Second time around for this short
Love the fit, comfort and support. Padding is perfect for my riding style of 100 - 150 miles per week on roads and gravel.
Go To bib shorts
While I don't have the budget to have tried lots of different brands, these are the bib shorts I go to first for long rides. They are as comfortable as anything I have tried so far for long days in the saddle, and it looks like they are going to stay in better repair after several trips through the washing machine as well. I like that the shoulder straps are a little wider than a couple other brands I have tried. They don't dig in like some. The gripper surface at the bottom of the leg holds them in place on my thigh without irritating my skin. They seem to be a good value for the money, especially if you can catch them on sale.
excellent bibs and customer service
I’m very happy with these bibs. The chamois is firm enough to give good support for many hours without being excessively plush. For context, I’m 6’1”, 170 lbs, with a 35” waist, 21” thighs, and 4” sit bone width. I initially ordered a Large based on the fit chart, but then exchanged for a Medium because the leg band of the L pair didn’t touch all the way around and the bibs just felt too loose in general. The exchange process was quick and trouble-free. Based on a closer reading of the fit chart I probably should have ordered an M in the first place but, well, online shopping. The fit of the M pair is just a little tight, which is what I prefer. The fit does feel more natural in riding position than standing up, which they note in the fit guide. The only flaw in the fit for me is that the chamois is just a touch wider than ideal for my narrow sit bones, but it’s not objectionably so and getting that perfect for everyone would probably require that Primal manufacture multiple chamois widths, driving up prices. At most I would have taken a half-star off for that but I can’t so I’m leaving it at 5: totally happy. I can’t review longevity yet because I haven’t ridden in these long enough, but I’ll try to remember to come back and do that in the future.
Dope, Dope bibs, prohibitively expensive
I love these bibs, undoubtedly the best I've owned. Used them on a 500 mile race and my bum felt fantastic. That said, I probably won't but another pair for like 4 years because they are really expensive.
These bib shorts are comfortable, fit well and stay put. The chamois provides excellent cushioning without too much bulk. Overall, just what you want in every day bibs!
This is the most comfortable, best quality bib short I've found.
